About the Role

As a Fleet Operative, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the fleet running smoothly – ensuring all vehicles are clean, fuelled, and ready for service. Working alongside skilled mechanics, you’ll support the maintenance team with a variety of operational and workshop tasks that help maintain the company’s high standards for safety, reliability, and presentation.

  • Overall, it’s a 39-hour working week, though shift patterns vary depending on location and current requirements
  • Overtime may be available beyond 39 hours, paid at 1.5x on Saturdays and 2x on Sundays

This flexibility provides a dynamic working environment with opportunities for variety in your schedule.

What You’ll Do

  • Refuel and check oil, water, and fluid levels on all vehicle types
  • Wash, clean, and present vehicles to company standards
  • Carry out shunting and vehicle movements as required
  • Perform light maintenance tasks under the supervision of a Foreman or Team Leader

  • Support general workshop operations and assist team members when needed
  • Always follow health, safety, and environmental standards

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a vehicle, fleet, or depot maintenance environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices
  • Good teamwork, communication, and reliability
  • Willingness to learn and support various workshop activities

  • Basic mechanical or technical knowledge
