Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Dublin, specialising in residential construction and small commercial fit-outs. The ideal candidate will assist in managing the costs and contracts related to construction projects, ensuring they are completed within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
- Assist in preparing and analysing project cost estimates.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Track and report on variations between estimated and actual costs.
- Tendering and Procurement:
- Support the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documentation.
- Evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor contracts.
- Contribute to the selection of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Quantity Takeoff:
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
Contract Administration:
- Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts.
- Monitor contract compliance and handle contractual issues.
- Prepare and submit valuations and payment certificates.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to the assessment of contractual and commercial risks.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.
- Generate regular reports on project costs, progress, and financial status.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Relevant internship or work experience in a construction-related role.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific software.
- Knowledge of Irish construction regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
