Trade Counter Assistant

Location: Ballymount, Dublin 12
Salary: €30,000 – €34,000 per annum
Schedule: Monday to Friday (full-time, permanent)

Labour Force is recruiting on behalf of a well-established premium distributor in the furniture, kitchen, and woodworking sectors. Our client operates in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is known for delivering high-quality products and excellent service across Ireland.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Trade Counter Assistant to join their team in Ballymount. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation offering full training and clear career progression opportunities.

The Opportunity

This role combines customer service, trade counter sales, and warehouse support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied position and working directly with customers in a busy trade environment.

An interest or background in woodworking, manufacturing, or the kitchens/furniture trade would be beneficial, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Counter & Customer Service

  • Assist and serve customers at the trade counter and over the phone
  • Cross-sell and up-sell products
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Ensure a professional and welcoming customer experience

Order Preparation & Warehouse Support

  • Pick customer orders from the warehouse
  • Prepare and organise collection orders in advance
  • Assist in general warehouse duties when required
  • Support stock control and cycle counting

Additional Duties

  • Participate in product training with suppliers
  • Promote current sales and special offers
  • Maintain a clean and presentable showroom

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Good IT skills (MS Office an advantage)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn
  • Forklift licence and Manual Handling certificate (advantageous but not essential)
