Van Mechanic
Location: Dublin 24
Salary: From €55,000 per annum (DOE)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, rotating weekly shifts:
- 6:00am to 2:30pm
- 10:00am to 6:30pm
- Occasional Saturday work required
Labour Force is recruiting an experienced Mechanic on behalf of a leading nationwide provider of secure logistics and transport services. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established organisation operating a modern fleet of specialist vehicles and offering long term career prospects.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Transport Manager and be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, inspection, and repair of the company’s vehicle fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Mercedes Sprinter fleet vehicles.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
- Investigate vehicle defects reported by drivers and implement effective repairs.
- Test and inspect vehicle systems and components.
- Perform preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer schedules.
- Complete all maintenance records and associated documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
- Assist with additional workshop and fleet-related duties as required.
Requirements
- Qualified Motor Mechanic.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Full Category B driving licence essential.
- Category C driving licence desirable.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
