Position Overview: As an Estimator at, you will be a key player in the successful planning and execution of M&E projects. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, ensuring that projects are delivered within budgetary constraints. If you have a strong background in estimating within the construction or M&E sector, and possess excellent analytical and communication skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for M&E projects, considering materials, labour, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with project teams to assess potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Present and defend estimates to senior management and clients as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, materials, and labour costs.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide input on value engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the M&E or construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Membership in a relevant professional association is an asset.
