Our busy client in Dublin Port is looking for a Forklift driver / Warehouse Operative to join their team.

Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative

  • Based in Dublin Port (Docklands)
  • Own transport is preferred as shifts may begin outside of the hours of public transport
  • MUST have a valid and in-date Irish forklift licence for ROPPT (ride on power pallet truck) and Counterbalance.
  • At least 6 months experience using the forklifts.
  • manual handling is required(but if you dont have one, we can do this for you)
  • Garda Vetting may apply (as you may be working in conjunction with Revenue, Customs, Border Control and An Garda Síochána while in Dublin Port)
  • Roster changes between days and nights so you MUST be able to work both shifts. (NOT one or the other)
  • Day shift is (5am – 5pm) €13:50 per hour
  • Night shift is (5pm – 5am) €15 per hour
  • O/T shifts are available and paid at a higher rate.
  • Paid weekly. (every Friday)
  • Its a 3 day on, 3 day off roster which means you will be required to work for 3 days at a time (3 days on, then 3 days off, then 3 days back on, then 3 days back off and so on). Each block of 3 days will be the same shift i.e 3 days on the day shift, then 3 days off, then 3 days on the night shift, then 3 days off.

Duties in the role include:

  • A warehouse operative’s duties involve working in one of the warehouses based in Dublin Port. During the course of the day a warehouse operative would assist in the unloading & reloading of containers and trailers. This includes both full & partial loads using a counterbalance forklift & ROPPT.
  • Warehouse operatives are also responsible for recording details of trucks, trailers and tasks done etc.
  • These warehouses operate on a 24/7 basis although not always busy other duties will be carried out during off peak times.
  • These warehouses operate to an extremely high level when it comes to Health & Safety standards, due to this a high level of comprehension of the English language is essential (both written & spoken) to ensure all staff understand SOPs and Risk assessments.
  • Full uniform will be provided as a successful candidate will work in a front facing role alongside our customers, because of this it is expected that all employee’s conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
