About the Role

We are seeking a Transport Supervisor for a full time, permanent position for our client based in Galway. This role is central to the efficient operation of the depot and will directly support the wider growth of the organisation. The ideal candidate will be flexible, hardworking, honest, and skilled in both people management and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and orderly dispatch of all routes across locations.
  • Monitor daily driver schedules using technology; provide hourly reporting on routes and delivery timelines.
  • Analyse driver performance by conducting route accompaniments and delivering coaching feedback.
  • Lead, coach and motivate delivery team members; manage performance and absence trends effectively.
  • Minimise equipment breakdowns and liaise with vehicle maintenance when required.
  • Complete and submit all accident and injury reports within required timelines.
  • Ensure drivers minimise damages and shortages through proper loading and delivery techniques.
  • Identify and deliver driver training needs as appropriate.
  • Maintain high standards of vehicle safety, cleanliness and brand presentation.
  • Apply company policies fairly, consistently and without bias.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ management or supervisory experience in a high‑volume, technology‑driven, time‑critical distribution environment.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Good working knowledge of Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph, WTD, etc.).
  • Experience in investigations and disciplinary processes related to incidents, absence or performance.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills for both personal and team workloads.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present relevant business or industry data.
  • Comfortable in a deadline‑driven, customer‑focused operational environment.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Transport Management CPC
  • Experience with transport IT systems
